Edem Seglah (e.seglah@abertay.ac.uk) has recently joined the Abertay Counselling and Mental Health team as Mental Health Advisor. 

Experts say that, the behaviour and environments needed to curtail the spread of COVID-19 outbreak are known risk factors for mental health and emotional difficulties

This outbreak has affected us in a profound way, on how we work and socialize, our family, community and university life. The truth is these may become our default position as no one has definite solutions to this enforced change

In times like this it helps to try and move attention from things that as individuals we cannot influence any change. Worrying about things beyond our control can be destructive. This will only leave you drained, anxious, overwhelmed and exacerbate any mental health problems

So your mental health is a priority. Your well-being and self-care, essential
