Introducing the Abertay Recycling Rally

We're pleased to announce a new recycling campaign that will start in the new year. The Abertay Recycling Rally is our challenge to ourselves to recycle more, and drive sustainability across our community.

 

Did you know that around 90% of the waste we produce at Abertay can be recycled?

 

Our goal is simple: to increase the amount of recycling we all do by increasing our dry mixed recycling & food waste by 5-10% compared to last year.

 

That's the stuff most of us can recycle every day — plastics, paper, and metals like your lunch packaging (*yes, even with a small amount of your lunch stuck to it).

 

To make it easy for everyone to take part, there are plenty of dry mixed bins around campus, and Enva, the company that processes our waste, sorts it all for us, removing the items that we can't recycle.

 

Recycling is one of the simplest ways we can all contribute to sustainability on campus. By making it easy to recycle, we hope everyone will take part in the challenge and help us make a real difference.

 

Throughout the year, we will share monthly waste stats on our updated intranet recycling hub, showing how we compare with last year.
